6 in one day

Today has been quite exceptional.

T’was a normal, lazy, sunny, mid-July Wednesday at Blue Shutters Gallery and Antiques that turned into a day when I would sell 5 paintings of mine off the walls; to my complete astonishment and joy!

Such a thrill that I was manning the shop at the time, so I got to meet the generous, enthusiastic patrons/buyers in person. One had already been living with two of my paintings for a year or so. That makes this all the more poignant. She came back for more and says she is setting up a ‘Dolly Wall’. I can’t think of a better compliment than that, can you?

Then the news spread and a friend who had been coveting a certain painting, feared it was one of them. It is now safely hers :) Nothing like a push! Am thrilled I will get to enjoy it on their wall for years to come. It’s one of my favourites.

If that doesn’t make a day good, I don’t know what can?

Although despite all this joy on my end, we have had sad, bad news as well for some we know, and it just makes you do a reality check that you never know what each day will bring.
